INDUSTRY, academic gurus and entrepreneurs thronged the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU) Research, Innovation, Industry and Entrepreneurship Week (RIIEW)'s official opening ceremony that was graced by Dr Nicholas Mugwagwa Vingirai, today.
The ceremony which is still ongoing at the university's main campus in Bindura, today, will see addresses from captains of industry and academia, and innovation exhibitions from students.
Addressing delegates in his keynote speech, which was premised on: "How to be a Practical Entrepreneur: Potholes and Prospects; Dr Vingirai emphasised the necessity of value addition in people's lives and also having the ability to adapt during austerity periods.
"As an entrepreneur, I must create value in people's lives.
"It is about being innovative, adaptable and resilient because there are many potholes. The need for resilience cannot be over emphasised," said Dr Vingirai.
RIIEW is an avalanche of research and innovations, but most importantly it creates a platform for knowledge sharing between industry, academia and policy makers.
