CHASING Children’s Dreams Association (CCDA), a Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU) students' body initiative, in partnership with Ebenezer Save Inn Center, has delivered early Easter 'goodies' for Avoca Primary School after making a donation of assorted goods including school supplies, clothing, and food items, among others. Several food and basic essential items were donated ranging from clothes, food, shoes, toiletries and sanitation.
The event combined material support with educational awareness, addressing critical social issues affecting children and youth. However, the students did not end at donations only, they also dedicated time for life lessons chief among them awareness sessions on drug and substance abuse prevention, which was held for 20 boys aged 18 years and below. Another interesting topic covered the dangers of early marriages, and girls’ hygiene management.
As a means to promote unity and team work among young children, recreational activities like games and sports were carried out on the day. The event saw the club engage with 120 children at Avoca Primary School, who were divided accordingly to age group during awareness and educational sessions.
