Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
— Proverbs 29:18 KJVDefining Vision
- God's purpose for your life
- God's will or testament for you
- The divine blueprint of your life (Hebrews 10:7)
- It is a goal that God has set for you
Two Dimensions of Vision
- Natural Vision — talents, skills, and inborn abilities
- Spiritual Vision — spiritual gifts, calling, and being born again
My prayer and desire is to see every believer finding his or her spiritual gift and functioning in it for the edification of the body of Christ.
— New African Apostle, page 150How to Discover Your Vision
Dreams
Example: Joseph. Dreams are not inferior simply because God spoke to you when you were asleep; they are scriptural.
Circumstances and Divine Coincidences
Example: David and Goliath. Everything happens for good to those who love the Lord. Stephen and Philip were chosen to serve at the table but ended up becoming evangelists.
Mystical Encounters
Examples: Moses, Paul, Ezekiel, and Guti. Do not worry about whether it is mystical or not; allow God to speak to you the way He chooses. Your duty is to have an unquenchable thirst, hunger, and appetite for God.
Passion and Desire
Some areas are acquired by passion and desire. For example, Timothy was asked to do the work of an evangelist even though he was not one.
It becomes a blessing when one realizes their area of anointing and becomes faithful and dedicated to it.

- Start small or where you are (Job 8:7)
- Faith (Mark 9:23, Romans 4:20)
- Patience (Hebrews 6:12)
- Obedience (Isaiah 1:18)
- Wisdom (Proverbs 4:7)
- Anointing (Acts 10:38)
- Exercise and practice (2 Timothy 1:6)
- A role model (1 Corinthians 11:1)
- Share with the right people — examples: Samuel and Eli, Joseph and his brothers (Proverbs 11:14)
- Write it down (Habakkuk 2:2)
- Dream big — example: Abraham
