Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management

The Department of Business Studies offers a four-year undergraduate degree programme; titled Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (HPSCM). In this programme theoretical, applied and experiential aspects of purchasing and supply are addressed. The programme is relevant in the era of globalization, where purchasing and supply knowledge and skills are a prerequisite suitable for the economic demands. The programme aims at producing responsible professionals who are ethical and uphold professional values.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

NORMAL ENTRY

  • 5 'O' Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics with grade “C” or better.
  • 2 ‘A’ level passes, preferably from commercials which include but not limited to the following: Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Management of Business, Business studies, Geography and Computing.


SPECIAL ENTRY

  • Holders of a Higher National Diploma or National Diploma (complete qualification) in any of the following or their equivalents: Accounting, Business Studies, Purchasing and Supply, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
  • Candidate admitted under National Diploma above will normally be exempted from Part 1 on a course-by-course basis upon application.
  • Candidates who have successfully completed the Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or have obtained equivalent qualifications may apply for direct entry into Part II of the degree programme, subject to availability of places.
  • General provisions for a four year degree programme apply except for special entry students who can complete the program in three years.
  • Work related learning and assessment can run concurrently with Part II studies for candidates who are continuously employed in the relevant field for a period of not less than 10 months.
  • No candidate may complete the degree in less than two academic parts

MATURE ENTRY

  • 25 years and above with 5 O’ level passes including English Language and Mathematics graded ‘C’ or better.
